A dal a The Pied Piper of Hamelin (Hamelin Tarka Pikulása) híres történetén alapul. A legenda a középkorig nyúlik vissza, a legkorábbi utalások egy tarka ruhába öltözött pikulást írnak le, aki a város által bérelt patkányfogó volt, hogy varázspikulájával elcsalogassa a patkányokat. Amikor a polgárok nem hajlandók fizetni, ahogy ígérték, megbosszulja hangszerének mágikus erejét gyermekeiken, és elvezeti őket, mint a patkányokat.
